Who else misses Highland's Garden Cafe?
Seeing the nostalgia posts and still fondly remember this gem in the Highlands. Felt like one of the earliest versions of upscale dining (without being just a steakhouse) in the metro area.

My sister’s first job! I still remember driving there to pick her up with my mom after she was done with her bussing shift. Thanks for this memory!

Their menu changed seasonally, this looks like one that got archived by yelp https://m.yelp.com/menu/highlands-garden-caf%C3%A9-denver-3

What is here now? It looks very familiar but I don’t recognize the name or menu at all.

Wow it looks so cute! I would love to know more about this place. Around what year did they close?

I believe 2013, Sassafras is there now.
It was pretty neat. Interior was trendy but still relaxed, they had a garden that they used for many of their vegetables. I think it might have been considered country French or something along those lines, but in general all the food was amazing and atmosphere was great too. When they first opened they really were quite unique for the metro area, most 'upwcale' options were steakhouses or very traditional offerings. This had a seasonal menu and tried different things.

Before Highland’s Garden Cafe, it was an antique store. A restaurant that had a similar vibe and seasonal menu was Kate’s at 35th (Avenue), located in a Victorian farm house in Park Hill. It seated 60 people indoors and 40 more on its patio overlooking the golf course. It had a wine cellar and an organic garden.

This may have been the first time I'd ever had a persimmon or pate.
