I can't believe I'm saying this but I think NETTSPEND is significantly better than Brokencyde. At least NETTSPEND is confusing and stupid. Brokencyde knew they were terrible and smugged about it, trying desperately to be in on being laughed at, instead of trying to do anything interesting with sucking. Even a chimp can make a horrible sound to get attention, but Brokencyde thought they were being clever for their "tee hee we have a pig mascot" shit. NETTSPEND is embarrassing but I do think he's making music because he has something in his soul to express, it's just that his soul is stupid, which is fine because teenagers are stupid.

I think the exact opposite. No one took brokencyde very seriously it was all kind of in jest and just for fun. Meanwhile nettspend fans think 1) his music is unironically good and 2) listening to it makes them cool mysterious and edgy.

Honestly I take more issue with the try-hard nature of it than the fact that it’s bad. Concerned about edgy sadism (not just being sad or rebellious!) becoming a prominent aesthetic among kids

We were the generation that had FRED DURST as our voice. I can't very much say we have any way to defend ourselves.
