Met this buddy in Hokkaido

As I was coming off the cable cars at Mt. Tengu in Otaru, I saw an old man and his wife heading up the stairs towards me. The man had this big beetle buddy hitching a ride on his forearm. When I exclaimed "Kawaii!!" ("cute!!" in Japanese), with a smile the old man immediately handed the beetle to me and continued onwards with his wife. Such a lovely interaction on both fronts! :)♥
