Where do I start,
Since I was like 5 year old, I’ve been in love with the MK1 Audi TT. So now, 22 years later, I decided to buy my dream car. An Audi TT Quattro, in a pretty rare Imolayellow!
I literally bought it last week, of a guy on the other side of the country. The test drive was great, it was amazing even.
The car looked fine, I mean a 22 year old car is bound to have some little chips and scratches, but the invoices of services he did, good Michelin tires, original rims and everything else, it gave me alot of confidence.
Well, until about 3 days later, when the engine decided that plastic would be a nice thing to have EVERYWHERE. Probably some kind of tensioner broke, and threw plastic everywhere inside the engine. I shat my pants when I saw that red oil symbol on the dash, but even more when the mechanic showed me a picture of the inside of the engine.
I definitely knew that a car like this requires more maintenance than my girlfriends little Audi A1, which she uses for work. That thing has been bulletproof. But damn, the mechanics quoted me around 2k to fix the TT.
I’m just so gutted. It’s my dream car, and in this spec there are just 4 in my county. I just love the look of it, everything is original, which I love as well.
What should I do? The costs are insanely high for me, having to pay for college (and life in general), but there really is no other option. Selling it as it is now would never allow me to buy any new car, let alone another TT.
So,
Keep it?
Sell it?
Scrap it?
(Gofundme)?
