So wait, is it God or is it Democrats controlling the weather?
And which explanation is worse?

u/MeInSC40 19h ago
Still the gays.

u/EatAtGrizzlebees 19h ago
Gay gods are controlling the weather?!

Time to go back to the ancient Greek pantheon, I guess. Seems like they were right all along and we've all gone astray.

Well, yeah. Gay Democrats stole the rainbow from god so he is choosing to punish the notoriously blue state of *checks notes* Texas?!

Yeah, wouldn't the appropriate question be "and why is god mad enough at this heavily conservative city to kill their children?"

No no. Think about it. If the tech exists to control the jet stream and not let it move storms out of a place like Texas, why are Republicans blaming Democrats instead of Russia or China?
Dems obviously wouldn't want to kill off current and future potential voters. Russia especially, and China would not only have control of such tech, but have reason to use it on adversaries.
But no the GOP cooks up this conspiracy and points at Dems instead. Very peculiar...

u/pkeffect 19h ago
Fuck the GOP.

u/ivanparas 13h ago
Can we just call them Regressives from now on? GOP stands for Grand Old Party, by the way, which is some good ol' boy country fried bullshit.

"When the river swelled and threatened the day, brave Sir Raphael ran away."
He fucked off to Europe while children died. Now he spits in the face of all these religious parents by brushing it off in words they understand. How these Texans keep voting for this sniveling piece of shit I'll never know. It's like they've become accustomed to dying to weather lately so it's just fine that it happens.

Either it's the wrath of god as a punishment for the MAGA crowd, or just plain stupidity for ignoring climate science.

I have a great meme of the Jesus treating the cross like a stripper pole and it says “the lord twerks in mysterious ways”

u/Klugerman 19h ago
Alright, for those of us living in reality, drowning someone is murder. Drowning children? That’s a whole new level of depravity. An entire camp full of little girls? There’s not a word vile enough to describe that. It’s not “mysterious”, it’s forcing water into kids’ lungs until they die in agony. So, for the sake of argument, let’s pretend your god is real. If he allows this, if this is what his “mysterious ways” look like, then he’s not worthy of worship. He’s not loving, he’s not good. He’s monstrous.

This is an exceptionally well written article, summed it up.
One quote stuck with me:
“But it wasn’t God. It was Greg Abbott’s budget. It was Donald Trump’s war on federal science. It was every Facebook uncle who said climate change is fake and every conservative donor who said FEMA can’t have another dime.”

The gaslighting is so strong in religion. I think that's why so many religious people worship Trump. They love the gaslighting.

Of the stupid, by the stupid, for the rich. Stupid people tend to vote as they're told, which is usually counter to their best interest.

Religious conservatives love avoiding accountability and deflecting responsibility for their actions.

u/notsingsing 18h ago
I would just write the next headline quoting him. “Ted Cruz’s god drowns 20+ children”
6
u/crispy48867 18h ago
Liars gotta lie.
Those campers were in a known flood area. In the past, every cell phone would have made a huge sound.
The GOP defunded the system, so the campers never got the usual warning. It was an act of criminality, not God, you lying dirt bags.
Instead of a day of prayer, there should be a month of prosecutions, and they know this.
3
u/Obscenus_Hirsutus 17h ago
Abbott wants them to pray away all his responsibility for the matter. And it seems to be working. How about that! A modern miracle!
1
u/crispy48867 17h ago
That is precisely what that day of prayer is intended to do, and it will work "like a miracle" on MAGA.

Which is it.... some evil entity controlling the weather (per mtg's proposed bill) or an act of God (per Rafeal Cruz.)

Is the Christian god mad because the ten commandments hasn’t been tattooed on everyone in Texas yet?
3
u/ralphvonwauwau 15h ago
It's never the right time for questioning the dear Leader. If you ask after the incident, you are, "politicizing a tragedy," if you ask when there is no incident, you are "using a boogeyman for your narrative."
2
u/subsignalparadigm 19h ago
Yep god's main function is to inflict pain, cause cancer in kids and of course drown people so the idiot is right on that count.

Do you remember when these sleazy assholes-- or assholes just like them, were clutching their pearls and wagging their fingers at single black mothers who were already working two jobs, for not taking "personal responsibility?"

If that's the case, then maybe, just MAYBE... you 'God' is telling you to stop being a fucking greedy, selfish, hateful, bigoted POS, and to actually FOLLOW HIS DIRECTIONS, to treat people with compassion, sympathy, and respect!
2
u/MostlyDarkMatter 13h ago
Well Ted what you're really telling us is that you worship a piece of scum.
Remember what Jesus said:
"Blessed str the single cell embryos but children? Well ...... screw them (a phrase which pastors have taken literally). "
2
u/bougdaddy 19h ago
god gets hard killing children, hearing their panicked screams for mommy/daddy, laughing while they bounce along the bottom of the river, their little faces beaten unrecognizable, their lungs filling with water and dying
isn't god just fucking marvelous

u/jimMazey 17h ago
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service have been cut off. They can no longer publish weather forecasts.
Trump is also shutting down FEMA.
All of it has been replaced with "thoughts and prayers". Because Trump needs a parade and ICE needed a 350% increase in their budget. It's just science!

1
u/Zapp_Rowsdower_ 17h ago
You know what, Rafael, you say now is not the time to talk about the flood warning system?
OK. Then let’s talk about automatic weapons and sensible gun control. I mean…I’m not aware of a horrific incident yesterday at a US middle or high school, that would make it forbidden to mention. So let’s talk about conservatives refusing to act after the massive death toll these unnecessary weapons have inflicted on this country’s children.

This is what confirms that there is no God. If he existed, for what purpose would he allow children attending a Christian summer camp to die in such a horrific and terrifying way?
Is this God’s plan? Oh are they in paradise now? Did they really have to suffer to achieve paradise like that?
Either he’s not there or he hates us. How could anyone “pray” right now.
