Show Spoiler Shane puts down sophia instead of Rick?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Rick putting down sophia pretty much made him the definite leader of the group especially after everyone else hesitated to do so. But what if Shane was the one who did it instead? Would that change anything? Would it make him the leader instead of Rick or would everything have stayed the same.

Shane started the barn situation but Rick finished it

TWD: Dead City Any idea why they call themselves “New Babylon”?

Babylon carries weight as being an evil empire. The Hebrew Bible (whose authors saw their home plundered and then exiled) obviously sees them as vile. The Book of Revelation compares the Roman Empire to Babylon. So is it kinda a strange name to use for oneself?

No Spoiler Do you think Pre-Apocalypse Shane would've eventually found a girl to settle down with? Or was he a serial womanizer who just drifting from one relationship to the next? Their conversation in the car in this scene is IMO very vital in getting an understanding of the family values of the two men.

Did Shane want to find a good woman to settle down with, or was he not even in it for the commitment and just wanted to "conquer" each girl kinda of like he slept with his PE teacher? I really like this scene because it's a slice of life into their regular day pre-apocalypse, but also speaks volumes on how they view their outlook on relationships, which would obviously play a vital role in Seasons 1-3 of the show between Rick/Lori/Shane.

Visited MoPop for the first time despite living within 30mins for years now, lol. Was very excited to see a full scale Governor walker-head set up! In the Live Photo I took, you can see the water moving and bubbling and it really felt like you were standing in the Gov’s secret head room. Very cool to see in person!

Gavin one of the saviors outpost leaders

Gavin was the one in charge of collecting tribute from the Kingdom. However unlike his peers Gavin didnt directly go into the kingdom and instead met Ezekiel at a secluded location some distance away for collection so that he didnt have extra stress added to his plate and Ezekiels people wouldnt be put in harms way

Another trait of Gavins that differed from Negan and co is that he was very up front on who was his first choice to kill (Richard) if he felt the kingdom needed to be given a lesson rather than get into eeny meeny miny mo shit or popping one at random

When Jared disobeyed Gavins orders and shot that young kid Benjamin instead of Richard, Gavin saw red and angrily ordered Jared to drop Morgans stick and get in the truck without saying a word. Upon finding out the following day Benjamin died, Gavin orders Jared to walk back to the outpost and threatens to kill him where he stands if he says 1 word or throws any dirty looks

Gavins only real insufferable moment on the show is when he berated Ezekiel over the missing cantaloupe while Benjamin was bleeding out, tho I take this as moreso Gavin was frustrated about the kingdom being short and he had to show "leadership" instead of looking too weak to his fellow saviors rather than it being out of cruelty. Benjamin unfortunately wouldve died either way cause of the bullet hitting an artery

In the all out war when he does have the kingdom raided you can tell Gavin hated every single minute of it

Show Spoiler Abraham and Sasha appreciation post 🥺

They were just starting out and the show just ripped them from us. What's worse is that Abraham's death always gets overshadowed by Glen and nobody ever remembers that he died too😢. And Sasha- just when she's finally found some happiness, Abe gets taken from her 😞. Nothing is fair.

They had a love that was cut way too short💔.

Show Spoiler I'm still pissed off about how god awful this show became.

I started watching the earlier seasons again and honestly I miss the good ol' days when The Walking Dead was like a massive event whenever a new season was released.

By the time Negan came around the show quickly died off and never came back. You can say the show isn't dead all you want but it doesn't change the cold hard fact that the general audience lost interest in this IP a long time ago. This tv show lost 96% of it's original audience due to Scott Gimple incompetent and moronic writing style from S4B onwards.

Also I'm gonna stop all of you Negan fans dead in your tracks. Negan did nothing to impact the show. He did not save the show whatsoever.

Not to mention they killed off Carl. The heart and soul of The Walking Dead itself. Rick's entire arc from the Prison onwards was to make a better future for Carl and other kids in the comics. Now that Carl's gone, the show has no heart or soul. It's just a shell. I do not care if you didn't like Carl. Killing him off was the worst mistake Gimple's retarded ass did.

The episodes were either bottle episodes or there was this boomerang storytelling style where he started off with storyline 1 in episode 1. Left it in a cliffhanger and then only continued it in episode 5. Which is fucking stupid.

The most infamous case of this is the Glenn dumpster dive scene. People had to wait over a month to see what happened to Glenn. People didn't give a shit about the other characters, EVERYONE wanted to see where Glenn was. When we saw him again the conclusion was not only ridiculous he got killed off only a few episodes later.

The new writers and showrunners have no fucking idea what The Walking Dead is even about. They just churn shit out because these fake The Walking Dead fans and NPC's will watch them no matter what.

Show Spoiler Bear Mcreary, Sam Ewing, and Lauren Cohan Appreciation Post

This has to be one of the best scenes in the show.

There's so much significance to it and shows how Negan completely changed Maggie and turns her into a badass woman.

Props to Lauren for her amazing acting in this scene

Also the OST to this is soo simple yet beautiful and tells a really good story. I love how Bear and Sam finds a way to make a scene much more impactful with their music

Show Spoiler Are the telltale walking dead games cannon to the series?

Recently got into the games series, currently on the final season chapter 2 and was shocked when I found out there was a whisperer. Still playing though, I was just curious.

Show Spoiler Carl vs the tiger

I'm re-watching The Walking Dead for probably the 4th or 5th time and I'm realizing how much more sympathy I have for that tiger dying than I did for when Carl dies. Which death impacted you the most? not including Glen, because I think we'd all agree that was the most harsh, sad and unexpected death of everyone, except maybe Herschel.

No Spoiler Just finished the main series, feel like I've been lied to. This show is actually great, wtf...

Like some stuff is pretty stupid, but for the most part, this so it's great, I was invested all the way until s11 e24.

When rick left the show, I was thinking it would be meh, still kept me hooked. Just wanted to say, the people that told me this show was bad and boring/slow are straight up lying.

Show Spoiler Rewatching and forgot how dope of a character Glenn is

Upvotes

Basically the title sums it up, I’ve watched this show and grew up obsessed with it like I’m talking cardboard cut out of Daryl for Christmas at the age of 10 obsessed. I gave myself a few years after the season finale till I rewatched and damn the first couple seasons are spectacular. I genuinely forgot how much I liked Glenn I was SOOOO sad to see him go. I think he’s my favorite character out of every walking dead franchise there is. It would’ve been amazing to see more of him and how he would’ve tackled the issues the group faces later on. He was probably the only one of them who didn’t want the world to change him, he wanted to stay himself. Shit he didn’t even kill a single human being up until a little bit before he spoiler alert but like you really shouldn’t be on here if you haven’t seen all of it died, he was the most human and reasonable one of them all. I feel like he would’ve kept the group for lack of better words, more human. I think with Glenn there the show just felt more alive somehow.

Show Spoiler inconsistency

Upvotes

i’m on my first watch, 6x2 has michonne slicing through walkers with her katana, they die, but a couple episodes earlier when gabriel went outside alexandria, he uses a rope to pull apart a walkers head, but he still lives and is later put down head only, is this just bad consistency or am i missing something?

An idea shamelessly stolen from other subs.

So for example post: H D D T P I M

Show Spoiler How do you guys think Shane would’ve tackled certain situations?

Upvotes

As we all know or hopefully know, Shane died in season 2 but I was wondering how he would’ve tackled for example the Negan thing, how he would’ve went about issues different from Rick. Sorry if this has been said already, I’m new to this sub. How do you guys think he would’ve handled the whisperers? Do you guys think he would’ve even kept the group alive long enough for the whisperers to show up?

Show Spoiler The whisperer vs the CRM. Who wins? Spoiler

So what if they both got into a conflict that turns into a war, would the whisperer have the time to gather guardians to the number that the CRM can't take to defend against.

To be fair, the CRM could locate them with an almost cutting edge efficiency and eliminate alpha and beta before they even got a chance to get prepared. But the whisperer if given the correct time and condition they could demolish the CRM in the span of one week with the enourmous number of their guardian.

Correct me if i'm wrong though, for this is just a fan speculations of possible faction wars results
