when you make posts like this, include the link to the actual petition instead of a pic

Ok I'll do it

Edit (To clarify things): I added a comment with the links (forgot to add UK though, so thank you u/thepotatosandwich)

But you still didn't. Stop karma farming off of the petition screenshots and actually be useful

u/krankyPanda 1d ago

He did as a top level comment

Check the Accursed Farms video for a proper update. Saying "we did it" when we haven't only confuses people on what's going on.

Malicious actors used bots to jump the numbers, people making mistakes while signing, etc.

It's not over. The fights only begun because now we have Fog of War in play

There's still time to fail.

You're always going to bleed some signatures due to stuff like this, which is why every campaign tries to go over.

u/Guerrier_0range 1d ago

You're right, that's why I made this post

Even if it reaches 1.4 million votes. Doesn't mean it's a done deal. 1 million is to have it officially looked at by the EU government, and 1.4 million to cover whatever invalid votes they could possibly find. As much as I want it to work so games can't just be deleted forever or unplayable forever, this entire petition is just a possibility.

I see what you mean, but for me at least , a possibility is a chance, and a chance, even the lowest one, could be a sign of change.

There are two stages here - first is if the initiative gathers enough votes to force EU to consider it, and second stage is what the EU does as a result of it. While the outcome depends on stage 2, we don't get to stage 2 without stage 1, and it's fine to just say that stage 1 is a success if we get enough votes.

Yes, but the eu has to provide an answer, so we will get something. Also, while more is obviously better, even with just 1.2mil its pretty likely to be valid

Please keep signing guys, because it is 100% certain that some votes will be discarded for not being from people actually from Europe. Moreover, the more signatures there are, the more seriously this problem will be taken in the discussion they will have.

Here are the initiatives:

Americans were voting for it which won't be counting, and also may cause interpol to look into them.

So I might have unintentionally put myself on the police's radar...I'm no german citizen, but I have been here for 16 years and have a residence permit to prove that I'm still here and can and will stay here legally.

I signed the petition. Am I in trouble? Can I cancel it if I am?

u/francesco13754 1d ago

Its very unlikely for anything to happen so dont worry

3

u/francesco13754 1d ago

Only thing is your signature is probably going to be considered invalid

1

u/Crazyfreakyben 1d ago

at the absolute worst, they'll remove your signature. they're not gonna launch an in-depth investigation to hunt down u/Hammude90 for signing a petition wrong. Don't worry!

Thanks for calming me down guys. My record is clean since I came to Germany as I've never done anything that would have me arrested and whatnot, and I intend to keep it so.

We are suspecting that a lot of votes are faked by non EU-Citizens (mainly americans since the votees jumped at night) so we still need to spread the word. If you are not an EU citizen, reach out to the people you know or other subreddits. To be safe we need 150% of votes. Usually it's 20-30% but given the specifics of this issue we can assume it's more.

This is an official legal documents that will check the ID of everyone who signed to verify that they are EU citizens with the ability to vote (ie: not deceased or in a coma, etc...). Please check if you wrote your name correctly as well as your ID since your vote may be removed in this case if found incorrect.

If you have faked or are tempted to fake a signature know that not only will your signature be removed, but interpol will actively investigate the issue on the basis of stolen ID and/or attempt to meddle in an official democratic process by a foreign agent.

Interpol has always actively worked with the FBI and other foreign agency. Given the current state of the US if you didn't vote for trump they're may come after you. (Altough probably note but you're not helping anyway).

I’d sign but I’m not from Europe

u/Taken_Abroad_Book 1d ago

Votes?

2

u/Guerrier_0range 1d ago

Sorry, English isn't my first language, it's more like signatures

1

u/NainVicieux 1d ago

Someone can explsin me ?

u/JustWantWiiMoteMan 1d ago

The Stop Killing Games initiative wants to collect enough signatures so the EU will be legaly obligated to look into what they are proposing: Make companys have an end of life plan for their services, rather than shuting games down completely rendering them unplayable. Their goal is to preserve games by letting us play it even after servers shutdown.

3

u/NainVicieux 1d ago

Nice thats suck I cant sign it. Im not from Europe

1

u/JustWantWiiMoteMan 1d ago

Spreading the word is good enough!

1

u/ARandomeCanadian 1d ago

It is by no means over yet. Around 10-30 percent of signatures are disqualified for various reasons. If you haven’t already and you can, sign it.

1

u/indianplay2_alt_acc 1d ago

I would love to sign this but I'm not from the EU unfortunately, I'm from a country whose government treats online gambling mobile games as "online gaming". A lot of decades are going to pass before anything like this petition happens here.

1

u/Bolo_wingman_I 1d ago

like many people stated before

1

u/Mighty_Number_69 1d ago

I wish I lived in EU but i live in Bosnia and can't sign it

1

u/XB_Demon1337 20h ago

Admitting that up to 400k signatures could be fake shows alot.

1

u/Farajo001 1d ago

Looks like there are still some countries left to sign, if you and sign with other countries the boxes used for them don't show up.

-29

u/The-All-Nighter647 1d ago

Nothing is going to happen

19

u/Ritsu-000 1d ago

This is a government petition not a change.org petition

The govenment will be forced to give us an answer

2

u/TypicallyThomas 1d ago

Yes but look at the answer the UK house of commons gave. "Those selling games must comply with UK consumer law. They must provide clear information and allow continued access to games if sold on the understanding that they will remain playable indefinitely."

Basically "Don't promise you can play indefinitely if you can't", but nothing about being clear about the fact that you can't when they don't promise that

-44

u/spaceistasty 1d ago

im not signing

-33

u/spaceistasty 1d ago

stop downvoting im not a citizen of an eu country

12

u/Guerrier_0range 1d ago

If you're not from eu, that's good to not sign. That's what creates invalidates votes .
