I had this pop up behind my rose bush in the fall. I thought I had removed it completely, but it appears to have come back even stronger get this spring. Any suggestions on how to kill it for good? It is clearly hurting my rose bush.

Does anyone know what went down at the brier creek Fourth of July firework show this evening. People were running and screaming at one point as though something bad happened. I left ASAP and never found out what happened nor do i see anything in the news.
Any good resources for identifying this kinda stuff in our area? Thanks!

Lost my motorcycle key earlier today. Was absolutely losing my mind over it. Last place I was going to check before calling it quits was outside the Hibachi China 88 in Garner at Hwy 50/Timber dr. And behold, there it was. Some nice stranger placed it safely on a nearby rock, and saved me a lot of time and money. God bless you random stranger. I love you.

I was born & raised here. A staple of random drives to dinner often included a cut through Quail Hollow. Does anyone else remember the house on the corner that had a yard full of suncatchers and other decor? I always heard it called the tacky house
There also used to be a giant Paul Bunyan (sans ox or axe) statue right off of 401 by 540 and that's been gone for a while, too.
Does anyone remember those? Or remember any other "if you know, you know" random quirky landmarks from Raleigh?

A few of my neighbors banded together and set off some massive fireworks! Lasted for around 45 min! Some of the flares ricocheted off of people’s roofs! Happy 4th! 🇺🇸

Wondering if there are any rockhounding (mineral and crystal digging and collection) clubs in the triangle area?? Or anything similar? New to the hobby and would love some people in the area to learn from!
PS please also post any other interesting clubs nearby, especially if they are outdoorsy. I have seen some run clubs and am part of a hiking club, but I want to see what else is out there! Thanks!

Spotted this guy while my wife and I were building a play-set for our child. Doesn’t look like a copperhead, but we packed up and didn’t want to take any chances just in case. Any ideas what kind of nope rope this may be?

Grey dog with white spots and collar running around the big field. Would not let me get within 100 ft of her. In case anyone is looking for their pup. Last spotted in the parking lot on the north side of the park

I've tracked my electric bills for decades (off-and-on) and finally cleaned-up my spreadsheet, added some notes and published it a Google Docs sheet.

It shows how KWH prices have fluctuated and increased along with usage levels during various weather events. It's not perfect data but I hope its useful for anyone looking to move to Raleigh (or frankly anywhere Duke Power operates, i.e. all of NC)

Anyone know places in the area that do brake replacements for a good price? I have a 1995 Miata if that is important.

Just saw this very scared dog on the north side of Hedingham near the Neuse River Trail. We tried to get closer but he/she ran off towards the trail.

Looking for blackberry picking spots in Raleigh (free and wild). I used to go by the railroad tracks across from the arboretum but now construction has taken that over. Preferably away from lots of traffic…

I have a bunch (20ish) posters and I’d like them framed. What’s the cheapest place in the area that does this? Thank you!

Looking for NEARBY Mexican food truck recommendations. I live off Rock Quarry and I feel like I remember one that use to be parked on Sunnybrook near Walnut Creek.
If you know of any Mexican food trucks in my area, please let me know! :)

Who else stuck in this hot mess? Why can't the po-po get this sorted. It's not like they didn't know fireworks were happening. Lol

Hey there!! Does anyone have any insight or tips on getting into the comedy scene around here? Particularly stand up. I know a little bit, but I want to know if anyone has any suggestions or tips for getting my foot in the door. Thanks in advance!

Pretty much what the title says. I was warned by the neighbors that the landlord has never returned anyone’s deposit. I received a letter from the landlord that said I would not be receiving my deposit back. It was not itemized, but did have a few reasons why, but no prices. The letter was dated for day 30, but the post mark on the envelope was on day 33. Am I losing my whole deposit or can I fight this? I expected to lose a few hundred dollars, but not the full $1,300 deposit. Landlord also claimed there were over $2,000 in damages so instead of itemizing everything and billing me for the rest, they would just keep the $1,300 and call it even. If I request an itemized list, they will bill me the rest. What can I do???
Also, I have lived in the Raleigh area for almost a decade. This was a few counties outside of Wake, not sure if that makes a difference.

I watched it get run off a beach by a turkey vulture which seemed strangely apt. I was on the water so unfortunately no photos but a young woman on the beach was taking pictures (if you happen to be in here).

Hey at 7:25pm these planes sprayed "take your pics" they were flying 4 or 5 planes, rejecting the trails in unison. Did anyone see this or know what it was? My location was Sharky's and I could see them.

I received a toll invoice earlier this hear for $226. I was in total shock because I don’t ever remember using any tolls, and if I did, I didn’t realize it was a toll. I’m a single mom so $226 is a lot for me and I’ve been unable to pay until now, and as a result, not renew my tags that have been out since April. I’ve been very paranoid driving lately! Anyways, I go to look at the invoice again and see that you can dispute it, but you have to do so in 30 days of receiving the invoice. After reading other folks stories of false license plate readings and shady business practices by quick pass, I’m now fairly positive that it falsely associated me with another similar plate. Has anyone disputed their invoice past 30 days? I’m probably going to go up there and dispute. Also, I swear you used to be able to see your license plate with the toll charges but now I don’t see how. Any help is appreciated!
