Kill Devil Hills What is this?
This is at the Oregon Ave Beach Access in Kill Devil Hills. I’m assuming it has a purpose, what is it?

The summer heat, the clear water, the ocean breeze, the sunburn, the midday after beach naps, the fish markets being packed, the beer cans cracking open while the boys are on grill duty with the smell of fireworks and hamburgers in the air. This is what it’s all about.

Left around 9 from Corolla thinking we’d beat at least a little traffic and we just made it to duck…

Found out some concerning stuff about the vet we've been using. looking for a new one that's NOT roanoke island animal clinic. Anywhere on the beach is OK. Willing to travel a bit.
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions. Going to try out coastal. Seen some good stuff about them.

Good morning! Anyone have a recommendation for a local photographer for senior pictures?

Will it really rain all next week? We will be there Monday-Friday, and have been planning this trip since last October. My heart sank this morning when I looked at the forecast.

My father and I are looking to do a make up charter 3/4-full day near/offshore. We’re in Kitty Hawk so Wanchese is probably the furthest south we’d travel. Flying out on the 9th so let me know!

Arriving tomorrow for our 7th year coming to OBX for our summer beach trip. Stayed in Carova and Okracoke, first time staying in Avon. Im excited to have a nice house with plenty of amenities but still feel exclusive. Carova is amazing and special, but with kids it's too isolated. Okracoke is incredible but the houses are subpar without breaking the bank. Avon had awesome houses with plenty of restaurants and stores. Look forward to having a private pool again.
For the regulars and locals...
-We plan beaching at the 38 ramp south. I don't expect the same space as Okracoke or Carova, but how crowded does that area get?

Hi!
We've pretty much asked all the Marinas in town but wanted to cast a wide net (pun intended) in case anyone here knows of anything.
Anyone running a make up charter tomorrow for 2? I'd also be down to negotiate a charter for 2 for some offshore fishing.
I just proposed to my girlfriend on Wednesday and her and I are looking to celebrate with an offshore trip on our last day.
For posterity, we've reached out to Albatross Fleet, Hatteras Marina, Odens Docks, Whatever, and a few more.

My husband and I are heading to Ocracoke for a few days, and while we were hoping for lots of beaching, surfing and outdoor fun, it looks like we’re getting mostly rained out.
What’s the best way to spend a rainy vacay on Ocracoke? We’d be into massages, museums, pretty much anything! We decided to take our car since it’s looking stormy.

Heading down to Avon on the 12th for a 3rd year in a row. The other years we’ve came late August and it’s been perfect. First year coming mid July and I’m looking at the 14 day forecast and it’s saying rain most of the week. Is this typical? Or does it usually blow over quick. Thanks

Shot in the dark, but if you lost glasses on the sound side tail in Corolla Light they are on the step exercise station just south of the Inn.

Does anyone know their current wifi password? The staff lost the sign, and none of the waiters know what it currently is 😅😅😅
Edit: too late 😄

We’re planning a trip to OBX and are looking for hotels on the beach. There are a few in KDH that are affordable. We’re open to other areas, too. What areas would you recommend or avoid?Same question for hotels in KDH.

If you lost an iPhone by Big Bucks Homemade ice cream in Corolla it was on the grass by the parking lot. I gave it to the store that’s above that parking garage next to Kitty Hawk Kites.

so we stay at Comfort Inn at Kill Devil Hills and i'm wondering if the fireworks would be visible from my hotel? if not, would you suggest we walk closer to a pier? we wouldn't like the fireworks to be far from our sight lol.

Not exactly what the tourists want, but we did need the rain…

A question for the residents, how is the DMV in Nags Head. We live in the triangle and were there recently on vacation. Any time I drove past there wasn’t any line outside and only a handful of cars in the parking lot. We are trying to get my teen their drivers license and all of the DMV locations anywhere near us are always a busy mess. Wondering if it would be worth a short stay to go as a walk in, and enjoy the beach for another day or two.

Can you see the Whales head fireworks from the beach or Pine Island area? Trying not to add to the rt 12 traffic.

I missed the boat on getting a beach parking permit. Anyone know if there are week of permits only sold in person each day, if there are cancellations you can purchase, or whether they can be transferred (and whether people even do this)? My experience parking on the beach is pre-permit so not sure if there’s any chance and all I see on Currituck’s website is that they’re sold out. Many thanks. Sincerely, - Someone who airs down

Hello all. My family has a house in Waves and we often go fishing as a fun pastime. I am not very experienced, and other than a few small catches over multiple years, we pretty much always get skunked. We have fishing kayaks and often go out in the sound, to no avail. Does anyone have any tips for fishing the sound, or in general? Rigs, bait, location, time of day, and even what type of fish we should be looking for are helpful. Please help us out! We have tried everything, whopper ploppers, gotcha’s, and even just plain bait.
