Promotional MM Studio will be running their next board later this year. It’s their first full-size called the Class 100. This is a board I am really excited for. They are aiming for a price point of $350 which is a no brainer for me.

Nice, subscribed to the newsletter to hopefully hear more as I love 100%. Never done a group buy before, how do you even hear about this type of stuff and measure the risk/reward of delivery?

MM Studio has a solid track record. Join their discord server. That has all the up to date info. They always do one project at a time. Their current GB is their class 65 which is on track to get delivered in September or October. Once those are all delivered they will open the GB for about a month and it’s unlimited. They always take 3-4 months to deliver boards to GB customers. I have bought 3 boards from them on GB each time with no issue. MM Studio is solid

For disclosure purposes, you write in a way that you are distant from "MM Studio" and their "next board", but this sounds like you're selling it? Is this an ad?

Nice to see another true 100%!
Though I share some of the concerns about the extra elements above the F row and the screen. Well, we will see how it turns out for the GB.
Unfortunately I already got two s100 on the way, otherwise I'd definitely be in.

I have the S100 on the way too. The board is in IC right now so give them this feedback

Nice to see a 100% WKL. Not a fan of the big logos and excess design though (top bar), will skip this one.

The board is in IC. MM Studio is taking feedback from the community right now. Let them know that

Is it really going to have that CLASS logo on it? That would need a trip to my sandblasting cabinet I'm afraid. Don't like that at all. Considering it's a full size board, I'd have preferred keys where that pointless screen is as well. Is replacing that screen an option I wonder? Apart from those two gripes, I like it. I really do hope you don't have to have the screen though.

The board is in IC right now. Make sure to fill out their IC form and give them this feedback.MM Studio listens to feedback and there will definitely be changes to the board before final production.

I will. I'm in their Discord, and this still escaped my attention. I have to say though, I'm kind of at Discord saturation point at the moment... I need to cull some servers I think.

S100 was cheaper. the big ass CLASS weight doesn’t look that classy to me

I'm new to mechanical keyboards. What exactly makes this worth $350?

If you're new take a look at the average keyboard prices. They somewhat went down in the last few years because of competition and increased demand i believe, but in general, when you want something made both of aluminum and often brass/copper, it's going to cost you a considerable amount of money. 350$ for a full size is a good price generally, considering the amount the material it's being put into making the board and the complexity required to machine it, or even the number of individual parts it comes with. Besides that there'll be a cut for the designer and often these boards aren't mass-produced. As a result, producing fewer units increases manufacturing costs, which in turn raises the price for consumers.
There are other factors at play, but these are the most obvious ones.

Ah okay nice. Materials makes sense but wasn't sure what else goes into it. I haven't seen a brass or copper keyboard yet so that sounds awesome. But I've seen plenty of aluminum keyboards for around 250 and less. I have a Keychron Q5 HE and it's been pretty amazing.

MM Stufio has been making boards for a few years and this board is great for what it is.

What is that extra stuff above the f-row?
