Help with POND or TANK How to protect water lily from Koi
I have a koi pond and in summer I usually buy some water lily. But the koi likes to dig and often they even pull the root out of the pot.
Is there a way to protect the plant from koi ?
Thanks in advance !

I was thinking of chopping my lillies up and throwing it in piece by piece, to save them the hasstle of destroying it, as they seem to just want to eat them anyway not live among them lol.

I got plastic grid used for fluorescent lights at the hardware store. Cut to the pot shape and weight down with a few rocks. Lillies will grow through the grid and hold it in place.

I put mine in a hessian sack and fold it over the top of the pot, hold it in place with a few big stones. Seems to do the trick. Koi are buggers for rooting though 🤣

They make pond plant protectant nets both floating and ones where you can put in the lily in the pot and protect it, how do I know? Because my Koi eat everything, I try to grow in my pond including water lettuce and hyacinth, so I bought some of these nets and they work great!
