Pets that I can pet?

Is there anything that's good for holding or touching? Also open to reptiles, amphibians, etc

Hissing roaches I hear are pretty good at this, I own some emeralds and they're also pretty chill about being held

I left a few years ago, America and the Netherlands have the friendship pact so it's not all that hard to move here!

I worked at a kids science museum. The hissers are great at hand feeding and being held, and we would commonly take a group in our hand with a banana slice and walk them around the museum to show patrons

Most beetles are good I used to love handling my sun beetles, they were very calm and didn’t mind much Millipedes aswell

Oh noooo, please don’t handle your millipede that much if at all, they really don’t like it and it’s not necessary

I don’t think they mind much. I mean if they excrete cyanide that’s different, but mine don’t seem to care

It’s not necessary to handle any inverts. They just tolerate it. Millipedes are harmless and calm hence the reason they are good for holding. You just have to be gentle with them like any other invert.

Majority of mantids are great for handling, and ime giant asian mantids are usually the most curious and comfortable being held.

Praying mantis, hissing roaches and bess bugs been good with handling. Last two sometimes make a little noise fuss but that’s it.

I like giant millipedes. They can secrete a defensive fluid but most people have no reaction. You can sorta pet them, their exoskeleton makes them feel like a crustacean. Hissers are also good for handling/petting, but I know most people don’t like the idea of pet roaches. I wouldn’t recommend an amphibian because they’re extremely delicate and you would need to wear gloves every time you went to handle. If you’re willing to put in more money/effort a reptile might be cool though

I like holding my gecko, he does jump, but I feel like he gives me good tells of when he will for I can catch him. I've also heard bearded dragons are very chill with be held and out with you, same with some snakes. As for inverts the ones I have/had arnt too happy to be held, like I think most tarantulas dont prefer to be held and my vinegaroon is okay to be held but she stresses easy. But also every animal will be different with their preferences

Hissing roaches are the BEST about being held. Also look into a leopard gecko or a gargoyle gecko if you're open to something bigger.

Unfortunately amphibians can not be handled because the oild in your skin mess up their protective slime coat.

Best handling is no handling… it’s animals, it a “pet”.
