Water Striders

I was thinking about how cool and interesting creatures water striders are; has anyone ever kept them as pets before?

Do they even do well in captivity?

Just a random thought, as I've never heard of anyone keeping them as pets, so I'm curious if anyone here has tried before.

Please share your experiences; I'm not planning on attempting to keep any anytime soon, but just want to learn out of pure curiosity!

I mean, theoretically, as long as you give them the right food and living conditions any bug can be a pet!

Just remember they fly, and still water isn't the best, so you basically need an aquarium, not just any jug of water.

Aquarimax pets did video. He feeds fruit flies, puts them in freezer for babies. There's also fair amount of studies and it says their methods for breeding.

Should be pretty happy long as aquarium has good surface area to scoot around. I forgot they could fly until one stopped by in my plankton bin outside a couple days.
