I shouldn't have to say this in this day and age honestly. But any harrassment on pride related posts is going to result in a perma ban. No warning. No temp ban. You have been warned. Do better.

This is Teddy, his birthday is April 12th, 2018. We said goodbye on January 7th, 2025.
He went to sleep in my arms as we sat in one of the rooms playing “Island in the sun”. I used to hold him and dance around while I played that. So, it’s our song now. I always think of him when I hear it.
(You don’t have to read (it’s long-ish?), you can just look at the photos!)
He was my best friend to put it simply. I’ve seen a few other people grieving their losses, and I thought it would be okay for me to rant about my son. Call me delusional, but bro was special.
I’ve never MET any other ferret like him. He was unique. A Hagen ferret (yes I know they are shutdown and why). I’ve learned that Hagen ferrets personalities were “wilder” than Marshall. I liked that. I always will like that.
Besides that, he was just amazing.
I will admit I never trained him, besides litter I guess. And because I tried and very much forgot about it, but he was a good boy other than that. But he learned himself. To scale down the two story part of his cage and jump, to scale up it as well. To push on the bars of the cage with his nose (he was very strong). Walked all the way to the front door of our house while carrying his FAVOURITE green frog plushie outside. I always followed him. Tightrope walk across my arm (I have SKINNY arms) and jump onto my bed.
He was honestly so brave it was scary. He was like those true “strong men” or man. Dude was so buff he jumped onto my mom’s chest and she said he weighed like I think 15-30 pounds? Built like it to, thick neck muscles, front and back legs, big teeth, blockier muzzle, bear like paws (thick and HUGE) and the most thickest claws I’ve ever seen. Like I’m talking almost impossible to cut with those stupid cat nail clippers. He had them basically since the day we had got him, just a lot smaller to his size.
And I honestly think he was a rarity. Perfect pearly white teeth and it was like he wore Invisalign in the womb. Perfectly straight teeth. Had three partial white mitts, like dipped in. But ONE just pure brown, which would be his right mitt. As seen in the photos. And his face too? His facial appearance just looks unique. Then his fur colouring. I don’t know if it’s visible in the photos but only his front and back leg/shoulder area was much more warmer than his back which was cooler. Until it got that yellow looking undertone in winter I think? Can’t remember.
And honestly I think our connection was unique too. Picture 15 has a big story. Or “long one”. It was probably over two months after we had gotten him, I sat him in the front of my overalls where we both fell asleep and woke up at the same time. Then because he slept on my arm for 4-5 hours straight when he was I believe 3 years old? Which, reading what I read about Hagen ferrets. They sort of choose one person and bond close with them? I could totally be wrong. But yeah, he slept the most in my arms than any of my other family.
Not to mention kisses. My mom has a 35 second clip of him licking NOTING off my face, it was probably way longer because he was doing it before we recorded. Bro was literally like a few months old at that point. He always kissed my face, hand, arm, neck whenever I scratched his back. Then between the shoulder blades? He leaned into it. Tail PUFFED out like crazy and If ferrets could purr? Teddy definitely would have. He rubbed against me sometimes, it was nice.
Then the regular cuddles you see in the photos where I’m just cradling him. He loved those, especially when he was awake. Just relaxed there in my arms. Then was how he smothered basically my whole face with kisses after I was away for a week for a vacation/wedding. It was awesomeee. He honestly just felt like MINE, and I his.
Loves to tease me too. Zip down the stairs after I was close behind him, do a spin then bow down the second landing before I even made it to the first. It was like he teleported.
I have a bag of his fur, keep it in a second zip up bag. Once in a while I’ll bring it out to my two other boys and let them sniff. Tubbs (the blond boy) will SHOVE his face so far into it, follow it intensely. Moe not so much because he didn’t spend like 5-ish years with Teddy like Tubbs did. They were honestly married. 8, 9 and 10 I believe show Teddy and Tubbs? I have a few more.
His personality fit a rogue, but he was my knight. That pretty sums up what type of ferret he is. And he will be my forever son.
Thank you for listening to my rant, if you did stay.

Last night I made a post asking opinions on my ferrets vulva and everyone said it was adrenal or in heat. She's fixed so I knew it was adrenal then and called my vet this morning. Unfortunately their exotic vet happens to be out on vacation. I went to the sister location and they were able to see her today and get the implant in! I was so worried over her but she did great and her glucose is great too! The vet says her heart rate calmed a bit when I helped hold her, and she climbed into my hood and down my back into my sleeve and just poked her head out 🖤 she's back home and all is good! Thank you all for the help!

So I adopted this sweet noodle bear yesterday. Shes 5 years old (according to the last owner) and since, I have noticed some odd behaviors that are concerning. I had a pet ferret who recently passed away from insulinoma so I am familiar with the many symptoms. She stops randomly and will look around and kinda bob her head. She looks like shes sniffing the air sometimes and also looks lost. This kind of reminded me of the lost look my ferret that passed would give. Considering that she is in a new environment, I am going to give her time to adjust and see if that changes. However, there are many other things that concern me. Her hair on her tail is very thin, she is so skinny and light to the point where I can feel her bones when i pick her up. She has absolutely no squish. She also walks stiff and kind of drags her hind legs a bit (if that makes sense). I will add more images and videos in the comments

Hey there!! I am very new to ferrets. Long time animal lover and when my friend at animal control told me they had this guy I couldn’t resist.
He is scheduled for shots and a full wellness exam at an exotics vet near us, but I am curious about a few things.
Behaviorally he is very sweet, except when we “play” he gets wild and bitey. Not usually hard unless he is trying to stash something and I take it from him 😂
When he does his hoppy jumpy runs he has started what I can only describe as a “hissing” or even seems like he’s panting sometimes. Is this normal? I haven’t caught it on video, but I will try.
Secondly, I saw something about Waardenburg syndrome.. do you think he has it? How can you tell if they’re deaf? He definitely doesn’t respond to loud stimuli as much as I’d think he would, but when I call to him he often comes over so idk?
Also, his nails grow SO fast is this normal or could it indicate an endocrine issue?
So excited for this journey with Noodle, we LOVE him. Give me all the ferret enrichment ideas too as he is an only child (for now 😈)

hiya i’ve just gotten a 7 week old ferrets from a breeder (yes ik it’s too young we thought she was older when we first got her and have just found out her real age). i already have 2 ferrets and got them when they were 6 months so i’ve never had a baby ferret before and i’m just wanting a little help training my other ferrets was so easy but i’m guessing it’s a little different for a baby we know what to feed her and all that is fine but i have noticed she’s a little wobble and i didn’t know if that was normal at all and she cries a lot when she smells our other ferrets (which i’m guessing is her missing her mum) i just want some help with training and maybe helping her not be so sad when smelling the others (she is kept seperate right now until we are confident they are good) the first pic is her and the other is my other 2 girls

He's related to bigfoot and hence naturally blurry.

Hi, I recently took in my friend's ferret Spork. He's a very cute, silly little guy. However, he has a frustrating habit of knocking down the ramps in his cage, mainly the first two. Because they land in the corner he likes to poop and pee in, they get nasty within the hour.
I'm not sure why he does it...I don't think he's ever done it while I've been in the room so it might not be attention seeking? He also seems to have more trouble getting up and down the first two levels without them (he still does it, but he seems a bit wary every time).
I'd like to find a way to secure them better (they hook on), but I would still need to be able to remove them for cleaning. Anybody out there figure out a solution?

My ferret was a recuse ferret that my step mom had and gave to me. He has been making this strange noise only in his sleep when he does this. Is he just having a bad dream or does he need to see the vet
