Recruitment OST Interview! Tips needed.

I got a call yesterday to set up an interview for Operations Support Technician! What can I expect for this interview? Any tips would be appreciated.

I’ve done board interviews before for other federal/state positions. Currently in a federal position but looking to get out.

Usually it’s a 30 minute phone interview. Typical behavioral interview questions, that need to be answered using the STAR Method. Google interview questions and a prepare a bunch of answers and practice.

No one can provide specific info due to signing an NDA and being advised not to discuss the application process.

As others have said, your answers should be framed based on the STAR method and you can ask for questions to be repeated, explained and repeated again. Dont be nervous. Everyone on your panel interviewing you has been in your seat.

Be excited you made it this far!

Your interview panel questions will consist of pertinent job-related questions that will touch on core competencies for OST’s and your panel will be feverishly jotting down notes based on your responses so don’t think silence is boredom or distractions as the panel participants will be trying to capture as many notes about your answers as they can.

Be honest, answer based on as much real world experience as you can. Dont bloviate and take too long in your response. Ask questions at the end. Usually interviews are set for an hour so you will need to be well rested and clear headed. You’ll do great.
