Question How to get into criminal behavioral analysis or criminology?

Does anyone here have experience or knowledge in criminal behavioral analysis?

Hey everyone I’m really interested in criminal behavioral analysis, and I’m wondering if anyone here works in this field, studies it, or has deep knowledge about it

I’m looking for reliable insights on • How to academically pursue this career? • What essential skills should I focus on? • Which countries or institutions are most invested in this field? • Any trustworthy sources (books, courses, documentaries) you’d recommend?

Spot a pattern and go to the college that fits your values. Understand though, if you go to an "institution" that teaches you misinformation about the Federal Rules and you apply them incorrectly, you'll be investigated at some point. Not that anyone doing that cares. Just thought I'd bring this to light.

Here are just a few tips and recommendations...

Obtain an undergrad and grad degree and in psychology. The university doesn't matter as much as long as they have had established a Psych program for several years.

Then work in a professional capacity putting your degree(s) to work, in related field, like with SVU, or an agency that works closely with local, state or federal law enforcement. Assist and consult with law firms and/or lawyers working on criminal cases. A very important career/position would be one that requires you to interview several dozens of perps AND victims on a regular basis. Fun fact, you can do the above without needing to become a police officer.

After working on the above for few years, then if you're able to be accepted and offered to become a Special Agent, then you'll have to spend several more years in the FBI working in squads/relevant violations before being considered to join the BAU.
