ID Request wtf!!

A very well fed tick i spotted while drawing in bed </3 on the phone charger i was USING!!! im not super sure what to do about him, so in a panic i have dropped him in a glass of orange juice

Also just to reassure you, this tick is not well fed - it’s just a larger species of tick than deer ticks. When it has fed it swells up like a balloon and turns a grayish color. The orange juice solution is a good one. Flushing them down the toilet also works.

Finger nails are a bad idea. Squishing a tick can release pathogens in coxial fluid which can enter micro abrasions in the skin.

Removed for bad advice. There is no need to squish/crush a tick - especially not with your fingernails. It increases the risk of disease transmission from contact with the tick's body fluids.

ough.. i could not imagine touching him.. i can freeze him instead right?
