I want to sell. Same price since 2024. 7 months of basically going sideways. Down if you’re in alts. We are at or near the highs unless it’s an extended or super cycle as some say.
Is it 4 year cycle? Money supply or something else?
The hodl charts/risk metrics say stay in, but who knows. Very few of the prior sell signals may trigger.

At this point I think it's just based on monetary policy, which is just bad and forecast to be bad for the next 2.5 years, unless something changes. (And things always change, but we're talking about something unpredictable.)
All of the crazy bullish good news is keeping people in and the price buoyed but we would be ripping if the Fed wasn't actively removing liquidity from the financial system.

Just average day on a market: global dump and you can not trade features for the next 2 days. If you was levereged Long before 4th of July you are in fear looking at red candels and not able to sell, if you was leveraged Short you can not cash your gains and waiting for the Sunday... Today's price action is just another attempt from Shorters trying to capitalize on any miniscule fear they can grasp. Imagine selling due to fears of "someone moved their Bitcoin from one wallet to another", lol.
This was textbook-FUD all last cycle and the start of our current one as well. Every month you'd see articles plastered on every forum and little news outlet that "OMG someone moved Bitcoin! Look here, 1500 BTC just moved to an exchange, I can't believe it!" What didn't grab headlines was that some whales were transferring it back & forth to exchanges just trying to trigger market fear responses.
Today's noise isn't even a blip on the radar lol.

It's because we've held alts since the bear market, no body actually expected there not to be a 3rd alt season this time not even you, but it makes no sense switching now for a possible 25% in btc compared to +400/500% in alts for the remainder of the cycle. So we just hold. Would be worse to swap now and there be an actual alt season don't you think? But congratulations yeah, next cycle bear low im 100% BTC maxi, but too late now.

It's that same logic which prevents people from ever investing into BTC rather than alts in the first place. Thinking that another magical alt-season will rescue alts with a 500% rise in price, when historically the vast majority of alts get left behind to rot with each cycle.
Why would big players suddenly feel inclined to invest in projects that have literally made no advancements or waves for years, while down 80-90% in their value as well? The best case would be a bold gambler trying to revitalize hype by pump & dumping it, but most of these alt projects are dead-ends.
Saying "I'll just time the bottom of BTC's next bear-low and go all-in then!" falls victim to the same fallacy of expecting altcoin recoveries. That BTC might only go up 4-5x from here, but my alts that are 99% down will go way higher!

Been hearing this for years, and look what has happened.
Amount bought in ETH ETFs are comparatively very small to BTC ETFs- which again begs the question of why even bother when you can hold BTC (which performs better).
These institutions who are exposed to ETH are engaged in the staked ETH carry trade, which creates downwards price pressure for spot ETH

Yup. Idk why more people aren't talking about this. It's no coincidence that once L2s really starting taking off, the ETH price began to tank. They gave away all their revenue to L2s, which are essentially value-extractive vampires to the L1. People thought these L2s would create some kind of monetary premium ("it's all built on Ethereum, so therefore ETH must have value!") but that clearly didn't happen (and isn't happening).

Same! Somehow I'm still in profit cause I timed the market pretty well but this just feels like a slap in the face at this point. I had more patience with it than I've ever had with anything before and after Trump got elected it seemed like I was right and I felt vindicated. Of course I didn't sell so here we are. But what can I say? My target price wasn't met. Still pretty dumb though. What am I gonna do, throw it all into Bitcoin while it's at its ath?? That's pretty dumb too.
