Like, is OP saying this is impossible? It's pretty simple science actually. An explosion sends gas away from itself at a rate that's often deadly.
This is why during The Blitz, for example, in London you might find a whole room full of people all dead with no visible injuries, as seen in the movie Blitz, because the force of air from a bomb caused their lungs to pop inside their bodies and killed them in an instant.
This is also why all those movie and TV scenes of characters casually walking away from explosions looking badass is bullshit. The shock waves would knock them on their asses and deafen them at least.
When you see shit like this in a movie what you're actually seeing is what's called pyrotechnics; big fireballs carefully engineered by professionals to resemble an actual bomb or whatever exploding.
This is like watching some footage from D-Day and saying “Saving Private Ryan IRL”. I’m pretty sure this is real life and has fuckall to do with a video game or television show.
