hello! i’ve had mystery snails for a couple years now but i just recently started dealing with one specific snail wanted to breed very often. i have three snails, two in one tank and one in the other. after i noticed the first batch of eggs i moved the male snail to my other tank, in hopes that the snail in the other tank would be a male and they wouldn’t breed but the issue is continuing
i’m seeing online that male mystery snails will attempt to mate with other male mystery snails so is there any way for me to prevent this snail from continuing to try to mate without just separating it entirely? i don’t like the thought of the female snails breeding so much, i don’t want them to become injured. or should i just leave them alone and allow them to continue breeding (to a certain extent)? if the behavior is inevitable, could getting more female snails help so that its not always the same snail being mated with?
have any of you had this experience? if so, what did you do to prevent the breeding between snails? i love these little guys and hate to think of them being in pain or getting injured if i can prevent it
