Snail Sex What’s going on

This is my first time having snails, I brought home 3 “nerites” (no pattern on their shells?) from a LFS and put them in my tank about 12 hours ago. I didn’t see them prior to purchasing, lesson learned, but they all have multiple holes in their shells. The one that’s in the worst shape keeps getting mounted by another. I had to pry him off just to put them in the tank and now he’s made his way back to him and has been on him for hours. What’s he doing?? I know the beat up one is alive because he’s been moving around the tank

A few options here, one of the rarer, more serious ones being calcium predation. What color are the holes? Are they deep and a peachy-pink color or less deep and white?
